Good Morning All,

I used to be a member of Facebook and I saw that the ISC page on Facebook is pretty active.  I have also seen quite a few posts saying the new ISC Website is active and asking people to use it (It is pretty fantastic so thank you Will).  I did transition to MeWe to have some sort of social media presence and to my surprise, I found an ISC group there.  Fantastic!  It also has the requests to use the ISC web site instead and I don't mind that at all.  What surprises me is that given this day where quite a few people are leaving Facebook, that the MeWe ISC group isn't advertised on the ISC web site.  I know that MeWe isn't as popular as Facebook but it is growing and people might be happy to know that there is that another option.

The Stinson presence in MeWe is NOT a sanctioned effort from the ISC. In fact I think it further fractures our club. I rebuild this site to be more Facebook Like for those that are used to that format, but wanted to no longer use that platform.

IMO, we need to focus on one place to share info and I would hope this site is that.

I agree 100% Will. I don't do social media although I  read posts from the feed on here. I would  like to respond to them sometimes but can't.

Will,

I understand your point about wanting a single place for information exchange. However, I gather from your response that the ISC presence on Facebook is sanctioned. So why is that sanctioned but MeWe is not?  If you want everyone to use this forum, which I am fine with, why do we have a Facebook group at all?

Likewise. I hate Facebook, am okay with MeWe, but would rather not have our community fractured and spread.

Thank you, Will, for your service. I appreciate all that you do.

N168C is down for the typical annual that takes an annual.

There are also some physical injuries that I'm working through.

Those'll correct themselves though.

Get out and fly while you can!

Yeah Karl.  You have a lot of sympathizers.  I did not do social media at all until the ISC got very active on FaceBook, so I joined.  But don't count me as a happy camper.  I'm not alright with any platform that censors and has the political biases that FB has, and have thought a lot about pulling the plug over there.  But as I have mentioned before, getting a diverse (there's that word again) group like Stinsoneers to migrate to one site is like getting a room full of cats to congregate in one corner of the room.

In the grand scheme of things, I don't really care.  I was just wondering why the group on MeWe wasn't advertised.  If you are going to allow the group on Facebook (probably because it just happened and got big before the ISC could really do anything about it), you may as well allow the group on MeWe.  If people are going to do it anyway (which they obviously are) you may as well make it part of the fold to get both the organization (International Stinson Club) and its information out to as many people as possible.  This is my opinion only and it may not have any basis in reality so take it for what it is worth.

I also encourage us to focus our communications on the ISC club form and not spread ourselves too thin.  This is a great platform.

I am also a Facebook defector.

Let's make the ISC web page the primary communications point.

I know nothing about MeWe, but I am dismayed by having to have another password required "account" to access the knowledge base because of some strange platform called "bubble up".  Sounds like a kids site!  We should only be aggrivated by one and only one account:  the ISC site and only require one password and log on to access anything within that site.

I wanted today to investigate the knowledge base addition titled rudder pulley but could not and will not because of the requirement for a different account and password  I have hundreds of passwords and they only cause ligitiate users unnecessary frustration and do not prevvent hackers from having access.

I haven't been on much because I spent 3 months in a nursing home getting therapy and recovering from a broken femur/hip.  I still must use a walker to get around and have not yet attempted to get in my Stinson.

@larry, the Bublup “OPTION” is just that, and OPTION. You can still access the FILES/Docs and newsletters, you can still use the knowledge base.

Yes Bublup is a separate platform from the ISC site so there is not a way to transfer credentials, so you must create your own account there.

The beauty of bublup is that other members can upload and add all the “Stuff” they have collected over the years and place them in the proper “Bucket” or folder. So this way the database grows even more making the data base better.

Is it a kids site? No its a great tool for those that wish to use it. If that is not your thing, then dont use it. I would say this, unless you would like to attempt to collect, digitize and organize all the data here, please stop complaining and start helping.
