Hi All-

I have just agreed to purchase a 108-2 and my insurance requires I am checked out by a CFI with minimum 750 total hours, 250 tw hours, and 25 hours in a 108.

I am hopeful I can find someone willing to fly the plane with me from Louisville, KY area back to CT. Ideally I am looking for dates between 8/25-8/30 but can be more flexible if needed.

If you meet these requires and are willing and able, or might know someone who is, I’d love to hear from you. You can message me on here or email me at graefchris@gmail.com

Thank you, and looking forward to being part of what seems like a truly great community!

Chris

Hi Chris ,I can't help you with the ferry fight ( I'm in Maine) but it looks like your insurance co. Is a little over bearing . You should be ok with 15 or 20 hrs real tw time  and you feel comfortable . George

@packardverngmail-com While I don’t disagree, those are the requirements the insurance carrier has laid out. I’ve already spoken with them about it, as the seller is an ATP and said he could do it as well, but they won’t budge on any parts of the requirement. My broker has tried a few different carriers and unfortunately since I just suffered a loss (my Cuby was vandalized/destroyed by some senseless kids) we can’t find anyone who will write me a new policy so for now I’m stuck adding the new plane to my existing policy and being subject to their requirements.

@stinsono Thank you! I saw that but figured I’d put it out there first before I started making phone calls or firing off emails!

Look up Ace Basin Aviation. The owner is a ferry pilot and tail wheel instructor according to his website.
