Looking for CFI checkout in Minnesota

Hi everyone!  I just purchased my first plane, a 1947 Stinson 108-3 with an O-470 in it and per my insurance, I need a CFI with 500 total PIC, 100 in a tailwheel, and 25 in a Stinson 108.  Let me know if you're in the area or know of someone nearby who's willing to teach me a few things.  The plane is currently at KSGS in the Twin Cities but will eventually end up in KSYN in Stanton.

Thanks and I appreciate all the info this forum has, it's truly a wealth of knowledge.

Congratulations on your acquisition (certainly a treasury) and welcome to this brotherhood!

Haha!  Thanks!  Everyone so far has been real welcoming and I'm really looking forward to the future with this aircraft 🙂

Kelly how did your search for a CFI come out? I'm looking for the same now.

FYI, I met you at KSYN this summer, great looking plane!

Hey Steven!

Thanks!  I wish I could have flown it more this summer.  But it turns out the prop was pretty much junk, so now I'm waiting on a field approval for a 182 prop :/  Good times.

But I got a hold of Karsten Nordby up in Glencoe.  He covered the requirements by my insurance and was a really nice guy.

I'll send you an email with his info 🙂
