Finally found the time to get all of the mods done to the heater. Added a circulation fan as the infra red heating was too uneven for this kind of work. Heating is now very even. It’s like a convection oven. There is a duct that takes air from the roof of the heater and directs it along the floor.

The painstaking mold shaping has really paid off. Got a really nice half windshield off the mold. Picked up some mark off so I’m going to lower the heater temperature a bit but the mold is now really “flat”.

Sorry for the radio silence. I’m fitting the work in with my busy schedule. Once it’s set up and I have a reliable system down I will be able to make them up without delay.

I’ll be firing the first one-piece very soon.

Half windshield proof of fit. I'm getting perfect surfaces now. Excited to fire a full one piece.

That looks fantastic! Lets see the one piece !

Can you post a few pics oh how your fuel lines are routed down the windshield side post?

Those fuel lines were installed wrong by the previous owner. They are the 1/2” lines he bought with the Univair 1/2” valve kit. I will be replacing them and selling the rest of the 1/2” valve kit. I have pics of an original fuel line install if you need to see how they did it at the factory.

First windshield done! It's almost perfect. I am now positive I can produce a commercial quality product.

The only thing I'm not happy about with my process is that the the very top edge has some very small deformations caused by the hanging clamps. They mostly get cut off as the blank is oversize. The top edge is held by small but strong spring clamps but If I use some cawls, they should be eliminated. The next one will be fired with the new cawls in place and I'll post some more pics of the result. All shipped windshields will be done this way if it works.

Cutting out another blank tonight. Will fire soon.

Fit looks great. Would love to be looking out that on short final.

Im interested in the panel you are using. I want to go to the modern T style in mine.

Yeah It's a pretty good layout. It was designed by Bob Reynolds. I could send you a tracing if you like. The 6 pack is removable and easy to upgrade to glass. I'm going to add a glove box on the right side though.

Glad to see you're doing well with this.  I have 2 in my shop.  One used with a repairable crack and one brand new one still wrapped up from shipment.  It took an exhaustive amount of talk to get the new one from the guys that made them in the past due to their fear of the FAA....but I eventually did.  It will be nice for you to be able to supply these as there is demand, people always asking me to buy mine since I'm not actually using it hahaha.
