Hello All!

I purchased a 108-3 about 2 months ago and the upper cowl hinge is beginning to fail.  It looks like someone pieced two separate piano hinges together (for the left and right doors) and overlapped them in the center, which caused slight misalignment and probably the cracking in the hinge web areas.  Univair sells the double sided center hinge strip (AN251-2-34 $$$$$$$) but it does not include the hinge halves for the doors.  They look to be part of a new door assembly.  Question:  Does anyone know if the MS20257P4 standard hinge has the same spacing/dimensions and pin diameter as the AN251-2-34 center section? I wonder if I can mate them together successfully.  Thanks!!!

To my knowledge, there's no such thing as a double sided piano hinge. If you look at the pic on Univair, you can see the MS 20257 stamped right on it, and that its two riveted together, like you have. Regarding spacing, when I replaced mine, I think it was the same. That being said, on the V77 I'm working on, the spacing is definitely different.

@resto108 Holy Cow!   I didn't zoom in and look close enough.  Thank you for the help and information.  I am going to buy another hinge from Aircraft S&S to use for the cowl door halves.  I will let everyone know how it works!  Thanks for straightening me out.  Much appreciated.
