Guys - my 108-2 has a goofy slider quick drain valve. Since my last oil change it is leaking. Any ideas how to correct this?

(BTW - the photo's are sideways. Not sure how to rotate 90 degrees to the right)

Thanks!

So that others can learn from my experience, I did clean the slider quick oil drain and replaced the o ring. She holds tight now.

But it is important to know that there is both a flat washer and a wave washer that set beneath the o ring. These two parts are not shown in my parts breakdown. I doubt that the slider valve will seal very well without these two washers in place. I recommend that anyone servicing the slider valve that they completely remove the quick drain assembly which includes the valve block and the elbow from the airplane. This will allow you to more easily remove, clean and inspect the two washers.

Although I got the slider valve working well and in fact looking good by polishing all up, I have ordered a modern quick drain that I install on my next oil change.

If anyone has the part numbers of the two washers mentioned above, please post them to this thread to help others in the future.

Thanks Group.

I removed the old slider and replaced it with a SAF-AIR Products P5000 Oil Drain Valve P/N 07-00879 from Aircraft Spruce
