Are any of you running Tempest spark plugs? If so, what model are you running and how do you like them?

Thanks!

It is odd for someone to answer my own question, but I poked around on the Yahoo Stinson group on the question about a Tempest Spark Plug being available. It appears from the post there that Tempest never made a spark plug for our Franklin 165 engines and probably never will. 😥

So - we can drop this question.

Thanks

Agreed. Champion has the REJ38, of which has burned clean and provided good service. Of course, with 100LL, you will have lead deposits unless you do as some folks do. TCP.

There may be a crowd funding campaign set up to see if people are willing to put money up front to get Tempest to produce spark plugs for our engines. There are a lot of "ifs" in this but the person who said them might be willing to set this up said that they wouldn't be able to look at it until after Oshkosh 2017. While Oshkosh is over, it is pretty soon since it ended and I'm sure we will here more about this in the near future, even if the answer is we aren't doing it.

It's a non starter. Only Champion is going to make the plugs and charge what they want. I would suggest buying a plug or 2 at a time every month or so and in a year you will have a complete set. It's an easier way of doing it instead of spending over a thousand bucks in one shot.
