I was pre-flighting my airplane to go flying tonight when I discovered that the aft u-bolt had failed. The right nut and the portion of the bolt that was attached to it was missing just above the cross plate on the spring. The only place I have found them so far is on Univair’s web site to the tune of…<drum roll please>…$53 each. I was wondering if anyone knows of a different place to get that same u-bolt that isn’t quite so proud of their metal doohickey. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. I also need to replace the nut that went missing so hopefully your source has those as well.

Well, I struck out at all of my local sources so I purchased the following parts from Univair:
108-5311005 Stinson Tailspring U-Bolt
MS21044N4 Self-Locking Nut
those are the part numbers for the parts you will need if you run across this. The original bolts on my airplanes had a lock washer and non locking nut so I figure this is a bit of an upgrade. I hope this helps anyone else who has this problem in the future.
