Has anyone installed front seat extensions?
A number of years ago, I purchased one of the front seat extensions from Gary Redden but I never installed it. I plan on doing so this coming year once I find my instructions. I was curious to see what those that have installed one think of them. Are you happy with them? Are you more comfortable for long flights with them in than you were before? How does it affect headroom? How does it affect rear seat space and entry into the back of the cabin? Any information would be useful. Thank you.
Yes, yes, no problem on headroom - you'll see a high/low setting for height, yes- rear leg room is reduced by 4" if the front seat is full aft.
My Mechanic and FSDO require these to be installed with a 337. Has anyone done this with a field approval and if so, can I get a copy of the 337 you used for technical data? It would make it easier for me to submit this.
We are finishing installing the extended seat rails today. I was able to get a 337 from my local FSDO Chief of Maintenance before he retired so mine will be legal. I plan on doing a full review on the product once they are installed and I have had a chance to sit in the airplane. Everyone hang tight. I know it has been a while but the end result should be worth it.
