After we discovered the BAS drawings for the mounts were incorrect, we corrected and made new mounts for the BAS inertia seat belts.   We have a number of these in stock should someone be interested.    Feel free to call us at Alaska Frontier Fabrication.  907-357-9323.

For those of you can't afford $800+ for aircraft inertial reel shoulder harness the FAA has provided a loop hole, perhaps. 43-13-2A ch9 par 146 says something to the extent, "any harness configuration that keeps personal from being incapacitated is satisfactory" It goes on to say regardless of "type of harness and mounting position used ".

I have taken them literally and installed something from a racing car. The original 1940 lap belts would be a joke in a crash.

Further reading faa ACE-00-23.561-01 Would seem to already address the use of automotive racing belts in older aircraft.  Thanks to our friends in Alaska!
