In the sample checklist for “Balked Landing (go-around)” on this website it states that flap position should be “Retracted to 27 max”. Sorry to say, I don’t know what that means. Can anyone help? Thanks.
Dave, 27 refers to 27 degrees, the first notch of flaps, labeled "Takeoff" on the flap handle. The first notch of flaps is supposed to be rigged between 26 and 28 degrees. For best angle of climb, "Vx", I use 1st notch of flaps and climb at 65 mph IAS. For best rate, flaps up and speed 82 mph IAS.
